fructuous Adventure Club training

Sunday's Adventure Club training sessions proved to be adventurous from the outset, with true diligence from coaches and students for making it to Port Erin, to begin the session. :)

Awaking to another overnight snowfall, we scheduled a slight delay to allow everyone to arrive, from various parts of the island...

A refresh on the beach, before splitting into two working groups - beginners and improvers with Jan and Becca, on a coastal exploration and the Intermediates (most of whom are gearing up for the BCU 3* Sea shortly) heading off to the Sound with Mike and myself.

Using the natural coastal features along the way, structured varied practice and individualisation was the aim of the day, culminating in wet skills in Port Erin bay. Gerry and Tony producing some dynamic rolling - the result of working hard in the indoor courses and transferring the core skills to the sea.

Then it was time for cakes and hot drinks, and safe journey home to Mike. Many thanks for a great weekend, and looking forward to seeing you here again soon.

Staff Training

Regular staff training was a full day this week, making best use of the low-angled sun light in the caves, close encounters with wildlife, clear conditions for reading moving water and testing personal performance in our delightful Kokatat Drysuits!

The day ran from Port St Mary. The girls were off early, sledging in the fields above the farm, and we headed off for the day with Mike McClure (visiting from N Ireland) for a day of dazzling sun and colourful caves... beginning with an ambling sea kayak trip along the South East Coast.

Winter Sunrise on the Isle of Man

The cold crisp mornings, with spatterings of snow on the ground, sociable sunrises and hoards of favourite locations make winter on the Isle of Man a breathtaking experience.

An invigorating and mentally stimulating start to the day as you gather a lungful of fresh sea air, let it spread around your body - a natural catalyst for positive thoughts and the desire to achieve something great today,

and the glowing satisfaction that you already have...

coaching & coasteering - on the Isle of Man

A few pics from the indoor heated swimming pool - kayak safety skills training...
Running Tuesday evenings - booking essential.
As always, we operate year round activities - outdoor adventure sports (which are sometimes indoor as well :)

Andy rang up saying his mate Ben was visiting the Island, and he'd like to organise some adventures over the long weekend...

We devised a combination of adrenaline and exploration, through Coasteering, Sea Kayaking and Gorge Scrambling.

The lads were new to the sports, and keen to try everything!

Sola steamer wetsuits are the answer to winter conditions on the Isle of Man, and help make the sessions both very enjoyable and much safer.
Happy 30th Ben - hopefullysee you back on the Island for the Isle of Man Adventure Race in June!

The Indoor Pool Courses have been a pleasantly warm environment for coaching core safety skills and then developing these into Eskimo rolling and water confidence.
Also a great introduction for our young adventurers to the fun side of the sport and experientail learning. :)

...the perfect solution

"Morning Keirron, once again a million thanks for a wonderful day out, it was a good bonding day for my son Leon and i.
Amazing what you can do for people with no training. Lovely views. Please could you send me photo's of our day.
Many thanks
