the sea is warm!

The sea is without doubt the warmest I have known it...
Youth Scholarship - TR. 17 took place in Peel, working on rescues within a group, also under the watchful eye of Phil Hadley, who is over completing BCU Centre inspections : )
The afternoon family sea kayaking looked like a lot of fun!
Then it was the evening Coasteering session, with the sea water sitting at a steady 15 degrees...
 ...it really was warm!
A great session with a group who listened well and had a an absolute blast!
Can't wait to take you guys on our next adventure, on one of more adventurous routes... : )

Coasteering / Evening Paddle

Coasteering - this afternoon

Just the perfect amount of bounce to the sea, and blazing heat from the sun : )

Evening Paddle

We spent the first part of session working with the beginner family group in their fitted sea kayaks in the marina, progressing to manoeuvring skills and preventing a capsize, before venturing out into the Irish Sea and to the cookie break on the beach!
Before returning and finishing round the Castle... : )

looking forward to another superb day tomorrow!

PSM Lifeboat Day

The Sunday sea kayaking sessions ran from Port St Mary today, predominantly in hot sunshine, blue skies and some stunning scenery!

Morning Sea Kayaking

 Try Sea Kayaking

George Shaw ran the 'Try Sea Kayaking' sessions from the RNLI slipway.
Adventurous Experiences provide 'come and try' sea kayaking - short sessions off the beach at the Port Erin and Port St Mary Lifeboat Day's, with all funds going to the RNLI.

...whilst the Intermediate sea kayak training group headed for the Calf Sound to practice some wet work....
A bit more bouncy in the afternoon, and not many pics taken...

Thanks to everyone for another great day on the water, in the sun!
See you on the water soon.

Exploring Peel...

...from the sea!
The Coasteering session on Thursday afternoon headed round beneath Peel Castle, one of our classic routes, with challenge for everyone : )
Enhancing movement, balance teamwork and a feeling of achievement, coasteering is one of our most popular activities, led by our highly experienced, qualified coaches.
Delivery of quality outdoor adventurous experiences requires a high level of judgement, and having the customer as the primary focus. Making informed decisions in a dynamic environment, removing unnecessary risk and retaining the unique character of the activity.
Coasteering is a journey along a section of coastline... it creates opportunity for real learning and changing individual's perceptions. It is an Unforgettable Adventurous Experience!
Certain inherent risks are integral to real adventure... like getting wet and feeling exhilarated : )

 Evening Paddle

The Evening Paddle went north from Fenella Beach, round the castle and up the coastline, in stunning conditions. Returning into a sunset, watching the mist rolling down Peel Hill into the town below...

 A fantastic experience with a great group : )

ps. Well done to the 'Four Elementals' all girls adventure race team, who completed their FREE training session with safety training in the bay.

Sea Kayaking

morning - family Sea Kayaking experience

With breathtaking views, and Andy North's photography (alongside his coaching) what a morning!

And a  few more images from the sea kayak trips yesterday off Peel, on the West coast of the Isle of Man.
Another terrific day along the stunning Isle of Man coastline, in the sunshine!
