The morning sea kayaking session left the beach at Port Erin, and explored the caves and arches before leaving the bay and headed North towards Flashwick Bay.
The old mines with Copper ore leaching from the rock nearby give a great history lession, and the sea conditions were blissful!
The Intermediate Paddle in the afternoon headed for Niarbyl, paddling at a steady pace, allowing for sorte's into the caves at Fleshwick and further North where the Seal colony were very inquisitive, swimming beneath and round the kayaks, nibbling the toggle on John's Explorer, posing for photo's.... till we dragged ourselves away and continued up to the White Beach for a break & cake!
A light SW gave a pleasant challenge in form of a warm light headwind for the return journey, hitting the beach at Port Erin at 6pm. Despite t-shirt attire the usual rolling practice was a great finish to a magnificent day on the water!
A day which began quite early :)

The light was the perfect for atmospheric landscape shots. On finishing we happened upon a couple of kayakers who had paddled over from Northern Ireland on the Saturday, and were setting off for the 12 hour journey home as we ambled past.
There are many things you'll only see by being 'out the door' at the break of day, typified by encounters with the local wildlife, and also meeting folk who share our aspirations for journeying and adventure!
Given the predictions for a terrific summer ahead, we'll be getting more visitors travelling by sea kayak i'm sure.
