PRESS RELEASE - Mylchreests sponsor Adventure Race

The Isle of Man Adventure Race, (organised and run by adventure sports centre Adventurous Experiences), is now sponsored by Mylchreests. Since the inaugural event in 2010, Mylchreests have supported the race every year, entering a team from their family business and providing ground support as well. In this new three year deal, Mylchreests are now the official sponsor of the Isle of Man Adventure Race.
“The Adventure Race is a big part of our adventure calendar, and for many of the teams taking place it’s a highlight of their year. The Mylchreest family have been a part of the race since its inception, and we are excited to partner with another local family business who share our values and passion for adventure on the Isle of Man.”
Keirron Tastagh - Owner & Lead Coach, Adventurous Experiences

We have supported and taken part in the adventure race every year since it began, it is a fantastic event that pushes both mind and body to the extreme. We are proud to become the main sponsor of such a fantastic event run by a such highly professional team and we will continue to take part. I am sure that the event will go from strength to strength as Keirron and his team develop it over the coming years, best of luck to him and all the competitors.

Recently receiving national press coverage through joined up working with Isle of Man Tourism, the 2015 Race, taking place on Saturday 19th September, is nearly full with the majority of entrants currently from the UK. Following the pre-race briefing on the Friday evening, when the course is revealed, teams of 2 and solo entries compete in a non-stop multi-stage journey, involving running, mountain biking and special stages (which have included sea kayaking, waterfall dip, tyrolean traverse, and other fun challenges) along the way.  No specialist experience is needed for the special stages which will not be revealed in advance of the event.

“Working closely with our media partners in the Department of Economic Development, journalists experienced the adventure race themselves resulting in features in The Guardian, Glamour magazine and fitness blog Food and Lycra. As a direct result, this year’s entries have included many ladies teams, traveling over to compete. Another effective marketing strategy was to use SI Entries, a UK based website which specialises in events such as this to host our online bookings. SI Entries provides us with direct marketing to active competitors, willing to travel to compete”
John Keggin - Operations Manager, Adventurous Experiences
