I was invited over to coach at the Autumn Gales in the last week of October...

"a rough water sea kayak training event for intermediate and advanced paddlers based out of Stonington, CT, USA. Greg and Paula at Kayak Waveology host the event and brings in internationally known BCU coaches and local rough water guides."
Greg's affiliation with Stonington is from when his dad lived and worked there.
The week long event ran from NESS (New England Science & Sailing) backing straight into the marina. "NESS is a ocean adventure non-profit organisation that engages students in experiential learning to build confidence, teamwork and leadership skills..."
...and we took the opportunity to take a look around before folk arrived...
"Marine Science and adventure water sports are platforms for inquiry-based learning, teaching respect and responsibility for the sea, and creating connections with the community."
We have a lot in common...
Our long-term development programs align and NESS is another year-round working case study.
Not only did the facility cater perfectly for Sea Kayak coaching delivery, it's principles and the perspectives of the team I met enhanced the whole experience.
Greg, Paula and their local guide team are terrific hosts, and fun people to be with. I working alongside Nigel Dennis from SKUK delivering the BCU 5* Training, then worked with local coaches over the main weekend.
The various training pods often caught up over lunch breaks, sharing experiences and stories...
Looking forward to learning more next Autumn!!
