Sharing Info

Its been a month of adventurous Experiences since the last Blog update.

A lot of great ideas and practice shared, from the Isle of Man - UK - Europe - United States... so much to learn, so many experiences yet to enjoy : )

Sea Kayaking - Isle of Man

Today's Adventure Club training (this morning), and beginners sea kayak trip this afternoon were both delightful to be on.

 Junior Paddlesport

Saturday's Junior Paddlesport program at Western Swimming Pool, Peel. Week 2 of this block of sessions, including students right through our Skills Development Pathway, from Start to Fundamentals, and students on Long Term Adventure Development.

National Coasteering Charter

The Isle of Man post-season regional training seminar took place on Friday at Maughold, sharing systems and practice from the NCC Coasteering Symposium in Newquay earlier this month. Also developing emergency systems for Manx waters.

Adventurous Experiences was again a finalist on Thursday evening, at the Isle of Man Awards for Excellence, in the Corporate Social Responsibility category, (for the 3rd year running)!
This is terrific recognition of our Youth Scholarship - Development and Leadership Program.
Delivered by Adventurous Experiences, in association with Conister Bank.

Great to be there to watch Sam win the Equiom Award for Young Achiever of the Year!
Further recognition of the exemplary work your doing with PB Sports Performance.

October Half Term Adventures

Coaching in the USA

Greg and Paula Kayak Waveology organise the Autumn Gales training in Stonington, Connecticut.

I flew out on 25th October to work with them, alongside Nigel & Eila from Sea Kayaking UK, Harry & Gavin London Kayak Co, the legendary Axel Schoevers from the Netherlands, Peter Jones from N Wales, Dale Williams USA, and lots of local Rough Water Guides.

Worked all manner of courses including British Canoeing 4 Star Sea Leadership Assessment, 5 Star Leader Training, technical strokes sessions, and physically challenging training days. Its a lot of fun with that whole team!!

National Coasteering Charter (NCC) - Symposium

I flew back in from the USA after 9 days away, and back out the same day to Newquay (via Manchester) to attend the NCC National Meeting on the Friday, followed by the Coasteering Symposium through the weekend. Some more excellent training and sharing of good practice, rescue scenarios with  Newquay RNLI, plus some socialising...

Then flew back home to the Isle of Man to the very busy training season here : )

Adventure Club - Isle of Man
