fun and excitement in April

so many different challenges made up last month, there are a few which are particularly memorable;

Coasteering exploration with some interesting 'moves' by James : )
"Hey Keirron, Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for yesterday. We absolutely loved it and was on a total high all day. You're a star, Jo x"

Morning Sea Kayak Trip from Port Erin and a coasteering exploration, giving the opportunity to observe what the 'other group' were doing... :)
Then it was back to base, wash kit and head off to the Anglesey Sea Kayak Symposium for the weekend, with consistant high winds... perfect for incident management training!

A mid-week Sea Kayak Trip from Niarbyl Bay on the West Coast of the Isle of Man

"Was a great afternoon - what luck with the sun and calm water, never knew there was such an abundance of bird life off the island's coast.

Sunday training off Laxey

Today's sea kayak training sessions ran from Laxey Beach, on the East coast of the Isle of Man, sheltered from the brisk Westerlies we're presently enjoying.
Plenty of rocky zawns to practice manoeuvres and the water's getting much warmer too...
We split into three working groups in the morning session and then two training groups on the afternoon session. A few seals were about off Clay Head, and as usual no shortage of birdlife.
The Intermediates spent a fair bit of time enjoying the water and trying different kayaks...

See you all next week for more fun in the tidal races!

playing catch-up...

Having enjoyed a spectacular April, with many off-island events and on-island training sessions, we're now playing 'catch-up' on the admin side... which includes some photo's from adventures with us : )
Sunday's morning sea kayaking from Peel, split into working groups and then met up for flapjacks and drinks on the beach over break-time. Returning to the slipway as the Southerly wind increased.
The afternoon Intermediate training session used the conditions to practice scenarios, a physically demanding treat.
We'll be paddling from the South of the Island this coming Sunday, with only a few places available.

Theia is on her feet now, making best use of her new-found freedom : )
Coasteering around Peel Castle on Saturday - family exploratory session...

...evolved to include many of the regular jumps as well. Dave was out in his new fishing kayak, bought from Kelvins Tackle - fishing & kayaking supplies.
A brilliant weekend's entertainment, with inherent squeals and laughter!
More pics on the way from some of the fabulous adventures we had in April...
Catch you on the water soon.
