Hi Keirron.

I’m sure you heard but your guys provided a great team event for us.

Their level of support and tuition was spot on with even our most nervous member surprising herself with what she achieved. The BBQ was also superb both in quantity and quality and was an excellent end to the day. They really wetted (sorry couldn’t resist that) our appetite and we will definitely be back for more....

Just a quick note to thank you and Kim again for the sea kayaking last Tuesday from Peel.

We all really enjoyed it and the children have been talking about it since we came home!

basic kayak safety

Adventurous Experiences recently organised a basic Kayak Safety Seminar, running over two consecutive Saturday evenings at their lecture room at Ballabrooie, Patrick Road. The two part land-based seminar covered;

tides, weather forecasting, predicting location conditions, safe practice, equipment and emergency procedures

The seminar was led by Keirron Tastagh - Adventure Sports Coach, and other specialists in their fields.

"Feedback was very positive and it was great to have such an enthusiastic group of novice kayakers sat around the same table, sharing ideas. We have developed an information page on the website with links and themes we discussed."

Coasteering at Port Erin

 We ran a cracking Coasteering journey at Port Erin for a mixed group, on Monday, some of whom do some rock and water activities themselves.

The aim was to deliver some current concepts and give them a new venue to explore : )

The two young seals swimming around in the cave beneath us, watching us traverse was the icing on the cake! Have fun folks and look forward to seeing you again.

October Delights

 Coasteering adventures around Peel Castle, Isle of Man

 An interesting swell onshore and bright sunshine, with a beginners group who wanted to be excited!

 Sea Kayak Trip in the afternoon yesterday, from Port St Mary.

We'd experienced the delightful conditions Coasteering in the morning, and chose a sheltered setting for the afternoon sea kayaking : ) 

 Absolutely stunning paddle!!

time & tide..

 There is a saying that "time and tide wait for no man"

meaning that no one is so powerful that they can stop the march of time... 

Hearing a flapping in the rapidly draining brine pools nearby, I found a young dogfish, stranded by the ebbing tide,,, Scooping him up I waded out to the deeper water and set him free again.

Looking up from nudging the slightly disorientated fish towards the open sea, I spotted an even better photo opportunity, I ran back for the camera and just caught it in time!

as the storms rage...

 I believe its been the windiest and wettest September for 20 years...

 We've certainly had our share on the Isle of Man : ) Its also been a spectacular summer!

It has been our busiest year to date (our 9th year of trading) and you can't ask for more than that.

 I wonder if the attitude of our highly experienced coaching team has a lot to do with this, and our ability to provide unforgettable adventurous experiences year-round, on the Isle of Man.

Some feedback from this Sunday mornings Adventure Club Intermediate training session

Hiya! Just thought I'd let you know how much I enjoyed today's paddle, was great to test myself! ....for the first time I felt relaxed in conditions and able to perform rescues without being concerned that I might go in myself!  I also managed 2 rolls today...

Coasteering group on Sunday

Its a great time for Coasteering and Sea Kayaking, and we're making the most of it!!

 Following the highly successful Isle of Man Symposium, which is the end of summer goal for many paddlers, Sunday sea kayaking sessions have moved into the series of structured programs which run into Easter.

Maximising the varying sea conditions we get through this period.

Discover Sea Kayaking courses have been filling nicely, the Discover 'A' course which begins straight on the sea, and the Discover 'B' course which includes 4 sessions in the indoor pool first.

A few places are presently available on the 

November Discover 'B' course beginning Tues 30th Nov 8-9pm (4 consecutive weeks)

 Having worked for Nigel Dennis for 5 years in Anglesey prior to setting up Adventurous Experiences back home on the Isle of Man, Anglesey had many great memories : )

 Next year's SKUK Dealers Meet will include the Friday on the Isle of Man, running straight into the Isle of Man International Training Weekend and Symposium training week.
