Calf of Man

Sunday's Adventure Club and Discover Sea Kayaking training sessions ran from the Sound, at the Southern point of the Isle of Man. Launching straight into the 'little sound' after loosening up on the 'parade ground'.
Two working groups split and went either side of the Calf of Man (depending upon experience and desire), meeting up again at South Harbour for our favourite break : )
A stunning day, and a spectacular location, with a fun group of paddlers!
Heading back to the Little Sound together, and finishing with a pleasant carry back up to the car park...
Looking forward to seeing you this coming Sunday, for the typical morning and afternoon sea kayak training sessions. Welcome to the folk who completed their Discover Sea Kayaking 'Outdoor' courses and joined the Adventure Club. Its a great time to come into the sport : )
Also a big Congratulations to Martha Hume for achieving Member of the Month for October!
Martha will be receiving her complementary experience shortly : )

BCU Foundation Safety & Rescue Training

Saturday's British Canoe Union - Foundation Safety and Rescue Training course began at Ballabrooie at 9:30am, running through some basics in the lecture room, and getting the coffee flowing...
The group have been mostly completing the BCU 2* Training course as well, so many of the rescue skills have been worked on. Throw bags and towing were as fun as ever : )
A really productive day, rounding off with some celebratory cake at Western Swimming Pool, where they had a great week to signify 10 years since it was first opened.
Many of the safety skills learnt during course have their beginnings on the Discover Sea Kayaking 'Indoor' courses.

Indoor Pool

Tuesday marked the last session of the October 'Discover Sea Kayaking Indoor' course, with tomorrow being a Coach Development session, (after Sam's FMP at 6:30pm) and next week an Adventure Club exclusive single skills session, before the next course with a couple of places starts 26th November.

This coming Saturday (16th) as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, we are running a free kids pool session, beginning 3pm at Western Swimming Pool.

Catch you soon
