Icy Boxing Day...

...on the Isle of Man.
The day kicked off with a brilliant crimson sky, which gradually dimmed to more subtle pastel colours as the it drew closer to sunrise.

Theia accompanied me on a search for some winter climbing on the Isle of Man.
An ice wall was forming nicely, a little brittle in places....
Let's hope for some freeze - thaw to bring it into 'condition' :)

pics from the Christams Day paddle on the way soon
Off now for an energetic game of Cammag on the Tynwald fairfield!

Winter Climbing - Cairngorms

The walk-in to Coire an T-Sneachde, taking in the varying routes, many with climbers on.

Checking out our routes for the mission beginning tomorrow.
On the way up i'd called off at Phil's in Menai Bridge, which was also 'in condition'

And a few photo's from Northy - of one of our coasteering adventures, which alongside our sea kayaking adventures, are continuing over the Xmas period on the Isle of Man

This winter is certainly going to be one of our best ever :)

Coasteering Isle of Man - superb!

a few pics to show...

a group of mates with different levels of experience asked for a Coasteering adventure on the Isle of Man including jumps of varying height, hidden caves, low level traversing...

... and warm fitted gear for December conditions :)

A sunset finish at 4pm concluded the route in spectacular fashion!

We have scheduled a Coasteering session on New Years day for those who need an effective hangover cure... and you can buy vouchers for our experiences, as the ideal Xmas gift!

The Isle of Man is without a doubt a world class Coasteering venue.

A little snow is again forecast for the weekend :)

a fat yawning seal pup...

and some more pics from yesterday's adventures ..

Sunday's Adventure Club sea kayak trips set out from Port Erin beach - a relaxed meandering paddle for the Beginners and Improver group, while the Intermediates headed right round the Calf of Man!

Crossing the Sound we spied a tiny seal pup which looked about 4 weeks old, on Thousla rock, and a few pups a month or two older sunning themselves on the rocks off the Calf of Man, not the least concerned about the sea kayakers paddling past :)

This one let out a little yawn, which I was lucky enough to catch, before rolling its eyes and dozing off again!

"As you said in your text yesterday, 'stunning paddle'! Cheers for that, have a good xmas and catch you mid January. Cheers David"

I've just put up some adventures over Xmas on the Calendar. If you wish to book a scheduled session or one for your own group at a time to suit you, please text or email us. We'll be delighted to organise it for you! See you soon

Corporate Xmas Sea Kayak Trip

This afternoon's Corporate Sea Kayak Trip ran from Laxey beach, sheltered from the NW wind, and in bright sunshine!

With most folk absolute beginners (or close to it), it was good fun, a relaxing pace and its always amazing how fast students learn control and enjoy sea kayaking on the Isle of Man, when paddling performance sea kayaks and quality kit, fitted to their size and ability level.

We'll be seeing you again to try Coasteering in the near future i'm sure!
Looking forward to it!

sea kayaking raises £485 for RNLI charity

Adventurous Experiences raised £485 for the RNLI charity through 'try sea kayaking' sessions at the Port Erin and Port St Mary Lifeboat Days.
Many thanks to our professional team of experienced coaches, who give their time and effort to deliver our successful community projects.

This Christmas we're giving 10% of our sales of Adventure Club membership Gift Vouchers to the RNLI.

Thanks also to Mike Wade who took these tremendous photographs :)
We're looking forward to another year of community events!
