Spring Newsletter

Spring heralds the beginning of a new season..
With the big high pressure system giving us calm and sunny weather on the Isle of Man, everyone is making the most of it. Hares were boxing on the field in front of the house last week, and I was watching the first egg breaking gently open and a baby chicken hatching early this Monday morning. The mother hen had left the clutch of brown eggs nestled at the base of the rushes down by the river, to feed for a short time, giving me and Theia privileged witness to this special event...
On reflection, it’s a great analogy of what’s going on in the bigger picture at Ballabrooie and with Adventurous Experiences at the moment.

Youth Scholarship - Development and Leadership Training Program

Our main community project - our own Youth Scholarship - Development and Leadership Program kicked off its 07th program this January. '6th Form' students four of the Island's schools have been participating in weekly training with Adventurous Experiences.
These photos are from yesterday's 4th training session for the South group, all pupils form Castle Rushen High School. More information on the Youth Scholarship Program on our website pages.
Evening Paddles
Last night was the first Evening / night paddle for 2011. Setting off from Port Erin beach in silver light, we paddled down to the Calf of Man. As darkness grew, the bio-luminescence developed, its was magical!
Given the superb conditions, we'll be running another in the near future...

Isle of Man Adventure Race

We have 19 teams confirmed so far for the Adventure Race this June (18th & 19th) and are expecting entries to close before the official cut off at the end of March. If you are one of the 12 other teams who have expressed interest, or have not yet been in touch, please confirm by submitting your team entry form and £120 per 4 person team, if you wish to take part in the 2011 event.
We are also offering training packages to teams entered, so don't worry about your fitness at the moment, and most importantly remember - this is an amateur, fun event!

New 2011 Calendar
PDMS have completed the second major stage of website development for us, and the new Calendar went live on Monday afternoon. You can now view a full month at once and 'book online'.

Check it out and let me know what you think, I'm confident you'll love it!

As always - this is a selection of the activitiy sessions we can offer. To book an adventure at a time to suit you or your group, contact us and we'll make it happen.

Check back soon to see the whole 2011 program.
See you soon
