Vancouver Is. Youth Expedition - Kayaking

Coaching People, Changing Perspectives

The team are presently in Vancouver Island, enjoying a day off the water, after ten days of paddling.

Sea Kayaking from Port Hardy, round the formiddable Cape Scott, up the river at San Josef Bay as the gales kicked in. Up at 4am each morning, paddling past Grey and Humpback whales, watching Black Bears, close encounters with Stella Sea Lions, Sea Otters cruising past on their backs, Bald Eagles overhead...

...an ever changing environment: one minute thick fog or rain, hot sunshine and wind the next : )
Learning how to put up a bear cache every night, after cooking over an open fire, and swimming in the sea to freshen up...

Catching fish for tea!

The Vancouver 2016 Youth Expedition is also sponsored by Kelvin's Tackle Fishing Shop, supplying kayaking fishing rods, reels, lures and helpful advice.

Generally extremely fortunate with the weather, the team swapped across to the inside straits in front of the forecast high wind, and explored some of Islands around God's Pocket...

A truly amazing kayaking stage completed.
Already an Unforgettable Adventurous Experience with many tales to tell : )

More experiences to follow....
